Northern Colorado has long been known as an agricultural center. These days, in the middle of the corn fields, Johnstown is growing houses! Even so, the town maintains the tranquility and beauty that are such vital parts of rural life.
With miles and miles of picturesque, rolling farmland, quaint main streets and "small-town" ways, Johnstown and Milliken provide easy access to I-25 which makes commuting to a nearby city easy.

Geography: 30 minutes from Greeley and Fort Collins. 40 minutes from Denver and Boulder.

School District RE-5J services Johnstown and Milliken, where there are two elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. The student to teacher ratio in School District RE-5J is 15:1 and the average ACT score is 21.3. Higher education options are ample in Northern Colorado, including the University of Northern Colorado, Aims Community College (both in Greeley) and Colorado State University and Front Range Community College (in Fort Collins).
Johnstown has seven public parks. It offers a variety of recreational opportunities for it's young residents, such as Little League football and youth league basketball and baseball. And, like the rest of the region, the proximity to the Rocky Mountains offers endless outdoor adventure activities including skiing, hiking, fishing and boating.
Being located near both Fort Collins and Greeley offers residents of Johnstown and Milliken the advantage of choice in health care. Banner Health’s North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley and McKee Medical Center in Loveland and University of Colorado Health’s Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland and Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins are well-respected facilities.
Johnstown and neighboring Milliken are surrounded by abundant farmland, which provides the area's largest source of income. Hall-Irwin in Milliken is a full-service construction management firm, Uniscope in Johnstown is a producer of specialty agricultural products. However, given the low housing prices, bucolic and friendly setting, many settle here but commute to the larger surrounding communities such as Greeley, Loveland, Fort Collins or Denver for work.
